RAPID CITY Rep. Stephanie Herseth once again let down South Dakotans with her vote against a $70 Billion tax relief plan that will be an extension of President Bushs tax cut on dividends and capitol gains.  Not only would this bill extend the Presidents tax Cuts, it would also shelter about 15 million middle income Americans from the alternative minimum tax.

Russ Levsen spokesman for Rep. Stephanie Herseth said in an April 22nd Rapid City Journal article she is an independent voice. She has proven that with her vote.  Levsen went on to say that Herseth would continue to vote her own mind, based on what was best for South Dakota.  It seems to me that her party line votes are in tune with House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, that she is not an independent voice, and that she did not vote in the best interest of the taxpayers of South Dakota. said Bruce Whalen Republican Candidate for South Dakotas Seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.  President Bushs Tax cuts have fueled the American Economy to new levels proving that allowing the American people to spend and invest more of their own money is the key to individual and national economic prosperity.

HR 4297 passed the U.S. House of Representatives 244 to 185 Wednesday evening.

These tax cuts are the reason that minority and lower income family home ownership are at all time highs said Whalen; a Native American from Shannon County, one of the Nations poorest Counties.  Rep. Herseth has shown her true colors with this vote and I believe that the people of South Dakota will rise up and let her know that they are not happy with her representation.  Whalen went on to say this is a clear difference between me and my opponent I will stand with the Taxpayer she will stand with the Democratic Leadership.
